教育問題是本期重點，「大學論壇」有兩位教授的文章都與此有關。

臺大哲學系教授劉福增以〈現實、理想與犧牲〉，對應屆優秀高中畢業生填報大學志願提出誠懇建議。文中說，假如這些優秀而心靈活潑的學生不擔憂未來的生活，希望他們將有助謀生的科系讓給其他學生，而選讀藝術、音樂、文學、哲學、政治學、人類學、社會學、經濟學及其他純理論的學術研究。這是犧牲，但也是一種理想。

張潤書提出〈對我們大學教育的檢討〉，其中，「課堂上幾乎沒有學生主動向教授提出問題或表示意見」，「今日的大學裡充滿了夢想出國只管拿高分的遠走高飛派，和無所用心只求六十分的混混噩噩派」，「薪水的菲薄，使得大學教授們拚命兼課，拿著一份講稿，像放錄音機似的東賣西售」，「大學教授和學生們脫了節，彼此只有在上課時見見面，下了課各走各的，這樣的師生關係未免太商業了。」

這些現象，如今似乎並未改變。
