韋政通新書《知識份子的責任》自序，也刊在本期《大學雜誌》。他認為，對現實問題表示意見，是一個知識份子應盡的責任。近年來，韋政通對政府有關社會、文化、教育的許多措施，提出了建議和批評。作者說，並不是他對每一個問題都具備專門的知識，而是因為他對與許多人切身相關的事，有一股壓抑不住的關切之情。
