教育問題尤其是大學教育問題，是本期《大學雜誌》的重點。社論之一〈從大學評鑑談學術發展〉，針對教育部公布大學院校物理、數學、化學、醫學、牙醫學五個學系與研究所的評鑑結果，此一教育史上的劃時代創舉，社論肯定教育當局的勇氣，但也提出進一步建議，包括應淨化學術園地，讓真正辦教育的人主持校務，建立嚴格而客觀的學術標準，社會尤其新聞界也要建立公正的批評制度與風氣。

社論之二〈慎重審核大專院校各科系招生名額〉，提出高等教育應配合國家經建計畫，確保經建所需人才供應無缺，另一方面也要嚴控大學生錄取名額，避免高等教育在量的方面過分膨脹，形成嚴重的大專青年失業問題。
