《坐在沙發上老去》是作者吳鈞堯的短篇小說集，這部小說集收錄作者寫於八十二到八十八年期間的作品。
吳鈞堯說：那些年，是我寫作最猛、得獎也最多的時候。現在，是想得多，寫得少了，越會覺得理直氣壯、義無反顧的那些年顯得特別珍貴。
這八年間，發生了很多事情。比如，結束單身生活，當了爸爸，不知不覺就進入前中年期焦慮期。
這八年間，想了很多，特別是對故鄉金門的情感與日俱增，而當我的情感遙遙指向過去時，卻會發現，現實永遠是現實，過去只能是關注的一部分，關於現實、關於現在，關注永遠都不會嫌少。
這八年一過，我在台北縣的生活又多了八年。台北有許多讓人逃開的理由，也同樣有太多理由讓人為它留下。我在這段期間，寫了這本小說，也寫了許多有關金門的散文、小說。台北、金門，我的兩個文學原鄉在這八年間融合在一塊。
吳鈞堯
出生金門昔果山，十二歲遷往台北，中山大學財管系畢業，東吳大學中文所碩士。曾獲《中國時報》、《聯合報》等小說獎，梁實秋、教育部等散文獎。〈神的聲音〉獲得九歌出版社「年度小說獎」，收錄於長篇小說《遺神》。2005、2012年獲頒五四文藝獎章（教育類與小說創作），著有小說集《女孩們經常被告知》、《火殤世紀》、《遺神》等，散文集《荒言》、《熱地圖》等。繪本著作《三位樹朋友》獲第三屆國家出版獎、入圍香港豐子愷兒童圖書獎前十強；《火殤世紀》獲2011年台北國際書展小說類十大好書、第三十五屆新聞局圖書類文學創作金鼎獎。
