「以利亞與我們是一樣性情的人」（雅5:17），他也曾因為害怕而逃避、因為絕望而想求死。是「十字架救恩的啟示」讓他勝過這一切，最後回去完成了神的託付。

「山洞」不是躲藏之處，更不是棲身之所，而是預表與基督同埋葬的墳墓。「從洞裡出來」象徵「向律法死，與基督同釘十字架，從此在肉身活著，是因信神的兒子而活」。

願以此書致敬「未曾向巴力屈膝、未曾與巴力親嘴的七千人」，這是一群默默無名、卻有著和先知以利亞一樣性情、為神大發熱心、但一直在這條路上孤單前行的「小群」。
