　　洪棄生（1866 ~ 1928），享年六十三歲，臺灣彰化鹿港人，為清末至日治時期台灣古典詩大家。詩作有《謔蹻集》、《披晞集》、《寄鶴齋詩選》、《八州詩草》等，題材包括香奩體詩、詠物、遊仙詩、諷諭詩，共2053首。其中以諷諭詩為大宗，多歌詠清末至日治初期時事。而評述歷代詩人詩作的文學批評則收錄於《寄鶴齋詩話》。

　　《台灣古典詩家洪棄生》不僅論述洪棄生的生平及交遊，更論述所有詩作，以專章討論各種題材詩作之技巧風格，闡揚其詩藝，總論其成就與地位。
陳光瑩（1955 ~ ）

　　臺灣臺中縣人。國立高雄師範大學文學博士，現任職國立南開科技大學助理教授。著作有《吳梅村諷諭詩研究》、《洪棄生詩歌研究》。近年專注研究洪棄生作品，已發表論文有〈試論日治時期洪棄生批判日人討伐原住民之詩〉、〈洪棄生論李鴻章誤國與甲午戰敗及馬關乞和詩作之分析〉、〈日據時期大正5年（1916年），洪棄生遊台北、淡水、基隆詩作之分析〉、〈洪棄生遊仙詩世變書寫研究〉、〈洪棄生題畫詩研究〉等。
