　王白淵（1902 ~ 1965）唯一著作《荊棘之道》是台灣新文學史上第一本日文詩文集。居住於日本的王白淵，一九三一年出版該書之後，一九三二年起在東京積極領導左翼文藝團體「台灣文化同好會」，因而在台灣文學史上，被視為台灣左翼文藝運動的重要創始者和活動者之一。

　　《荊棘之道》收錄王白淵詩六十六首（以巫永福先生的翻譯為主體）、王白淵論文兩篇，加上巫永福先生和橋木恭子等人的文章與論文。可謂了解、研究王白淵其人其詩其文最完整的書籍。
莫渝（林良雅，1948 ~ ）

　　出生於苗栗縣竹南鎮。目前任教苗栗聯合大學。長期與詩文學為伍。一直抱持著對這塊土地深沉的愛與憧憬，在邊緣發聲、寫作。對自己界定：現實主義人文關懷的台灣詩人。

　　著有：《莫渝詩文集》五冊（2005年4月苗栗縣文化局出版）、詩集《第一道曙光》、評論集《台灣詩人群像》、《波光瀲灩??20世紀法國文學》三書（2007年秀威資訊出版）。與陳坤崙、李昌憲合作，策劃出版「台灣詩人群像」詩叢。
