　　藉著一則有關中國西南森林中有關金絲猿的傳奇，李渝回顧上個世紀中期以來的家國動亂，也思考救贖種種創傷的可能。更重要的，她對金絲猿傳奇的敘述，直指她對一種獨特的書寫美學與倫理的省思。金絲猿因此成為一個隱喻，既暗示歷史盡頭那靈光一現的遭遇，也點出書寫本身所帶來的神祕而又華麗的冒險。

　　當代臺灣重要作家。出生重慶，一九四九隨家人渡海來臺。臺大外文系畢業，美國柏克萊加州大學中國藝術史博士。著有小說集《溫州街的故事》、《應答的鄉岸》、《夏日踟躕》、《賢明時代》、《九重葛與美少年》與《金絲猿的故事》；文藝評論《族群意識與卓越風格》、《行動中的藝術家》和《拾花入夢記》；畫家評傳《任伯年》；翻譯《現代畫是什麼》、《中國繪畫史》。
