「青銀共融」是本期季刊的主題，從字面上來看，它指的是「青年」與「銀髮族」能夠消除彼此之隔閡、刻板印象及歧視，形成良性的理解、互動甚至是合作，進而達成各層面之共融。雖然該詞句在近來年吸引許多人的目光，不過在官方的用語中，較常被使用的是「世代共融」一詞，例如在2021年衛生福利部公布《高齡社會白皮書》之第三點政策目標即強調：「促進世代和諧共融：消弭世代隔閡，促進高齡者與不同世代的交流互動，相互同理與彼此尊重」，且在促進共融之政策願景部份更指出：「國家應促進高齡者與其他年齡群體的互動，去除社會對於高齡者的刻板印象與年齡歧視，強化世代連結與融合」，顯然地，青銀共融所指涉的年齡區間較世代共融小，前者是後者的重要次面向。
