作者曾跟隨多個知名書畫家學習，包括寫意水墨畫大師李澤文及名書法家戚谷華等等；曾於北京、上海、香港等地舉辦多次個人畫展。在她的繪畫旅程中，她領略到寓情於景是需要動用著真摯的感情和豐富的想像力，既要有強烈真摯及樸實的感情，更加要有表現自己親身感受的強大慾望。

本書收錄了作者由1991年至2023年期間，約一百幅繪畫作品，這些作品記錄着她走過的地方，留下了她對時空的印象，人世間的至真、至善、至美；那情景相融、有情有景、有景有情，動人的一刻。
鄺國蓮籍貫廣東開平，1972年於香港中文大學新聞系畢業，並在1974年獲美國夏威夷大學東西文化中心獎學金修讀教育傳理學碩士學位。於1976年回港入傳媒工作並同年加入香港理工大學教學媒體製作服務處工作至退休。

1987年開始隨李澤文老師研習寫意水墨畫及書法，翌年參加夏利豪基金會年度作品比賽成功入選，並在慈善籌款拍賣中以不錯的價錢拍出。在1989年1996期間，曾在內地及香港舉辦共五次個人畫展，並出版了三本畫冊。
