國際會計準則理事會（IASB）所發布之國際財務報導準則第17號「保險合約」（IFRS 17），於2023年1月1日生效，金融監督管理委員會亦宣布我國將於2026年正式適用，取代國際財務報導準則第4號「保險合約」。

IFRS17規定之會計處理與我國保險業現行之會計處理有諸多不同，不僅影響財務報表報導方式的改變，對財會及精算作業、系統建置、風險控管流程、內部控制相關政策及程序、績效指標與衡量方法等，皆有不同程度之衝擊，預期在適用上將有相當大的挑戰。為協助我國公開發行公司因應適用IFRS 17所面臨之挑戰，會研基金會出版《國際財務報導準則第 17號釋例範本》，以適合臺灣實務之釋例，供各界參考，以期順利與IFRS17接軌。
