《漢語講話》是王力先生為普及現代漢語語言學知識、推動漢語規範化和文字改革所寫的講話性質的讀本。全書分為兩大部分，其中正文部分包括緒論、語音、語法、辭彙和文字五大方面，作者運用大量生動有趣又貼近生活的例子，簡明扼要地介紹了現代漢語的基本知識；附錄部分選取了王力先生七篇有代表性的論文，從字音、字形、字義、標點等方面對正文進行了補充，讀者可以從中更全面地瞭解現代漢語。
王力（1900—1986），字了一，廣西博白人。北京大學中文系一級教授，中國現代語言學的奠基人之一，中國科學院哲學社會科學部委員。早年就讀於清華大學國學研究院，師從梁啟超、王國維、趙元任、陳寅恪等。後留學法國，獲巴黎大學文學博士學位。回國後歷任清華大學、西南聯合大學、中山大學、北京大學等校教授，著有《漢語詩律學》《漢語史稿》《中國語言學史》《同源字典》等四十餘部，主編有《古代漢語》《王力古漢語字典》等，譯有波德萊爾的《惡之花》（詩集）等三十餘部。
