《紐約宅家日記》作者鮮于濤以日記式寫法，記錄新冠疫情期間的所見所聞所感，並穿插家族軼聞、父輩往事，以及成長經歷，勘稱「家國春秋」的最佳寫照。
複姓“鮮于”，單名濤（曾用筆名“景廉”）。祖籍湖北宜都，在武漢度過了學生時代，參加工作後定居沙市（現湖北荊州市）。出國前曾經長期從事中小學教學工作，職稱評定中教一級。學生時代遭遇三年“自然災害”，親歷“四清運動”，見證“十年文革”。階級鬥爭帶來的家庭變故，關聯著家族的跌宕命運和作者本人的生活軌跡。愛好廣泛，尤其熱衷於體育運動。武術、摔跤、拳擊、游泳、籃球、足球都曾涉獵。十多次橫渡長江，參加過省運會的武術比賽，擔任過業餘武術隊的教練。持有國家一級武術裁判證書。人生經歷豐富。武者體格亦不乏文人情懷，時有舞文弄墨、吟詩唱詞、抒情敘事，嘆海外飄零之感，慰故土鄉情之念。1994年移民美國，現居紐約皇后區法拉盛。
