蒙古人曾經主宰這個世界，稱霸兩個世紀，建立當時最大的亞歐帝國。但隨著元國的衰敗，蒙古人漸漸淡出歷史舞臺。本書從國家認同、外交、國防、政府型態等面向，探討蒙古建國後的發展及未來展望；亦從自由運動與教育考察等角度，一窺內蒙古在中國的境況。
