作者簡介：
海倫．班尼曼（Helen Bennerman）
1862年出生於英國愛丁堡，1899到1918年間，因夫婿工作的關係到印度住了一段時間，兩名女兒則留在蘇格蘭接受教育。這段期間，她在寫給女兒的信中，連寫帶畫，將她對印度的印象編成一段段可愛的故事，這些信便是" The Story of Little Black Sambo " (1899) 的前身。"
