即使台灣地處亞熱帶，四季變化不明顯，小兒科醫師仍提醒，在氣溫變化較大的交替季節，病毒會跟著氣溫下降而蠢蠢欲動，父母必須多留意孩子的過敏症狀。

就拿過敏造成的氣喘來說，馬偕紀念醫院小兒感染科主治醫師黃瑽寧曾在部落格中表示，第一次確認自己有氣喘體質，其實就是從病毒感染而起。他指出，嬰兒的免疫系統會走向過敏氣喘，是受到遺傳基因、所處環境及飲食等綜合因素的影響，漸漸形成的體質。
