《马先生谈算学》是著名数学教育家刘薰宇写给中小学生的数学科普经典。本书虚拟了一个叫“马先生”人物，用马先生的视角叙述，主要讲解了如何用图解法求解算术四则问题，编写了100多道题目，由浅入深地讲解数学问题。
刘薰宇（1896 年 - 1967 年），贵州贵阳人。1919 年毕业于北京高等师范学校数理系，1928 年留学法国，在巴黎大学研究数学，1930 年回国。新中国成立后，曾任贵阳中学校长，贵阳人大代表、政协委员，1950 年调人民教育出版社任副总编辑，1956 年加入中国共产党。
