萧红的《生死场》是张福贵主编的《东北流亡文学史料与研究丛书》作品卷中的一部。《东北流亡文学史料与研究丛书》是中国首部全面系统整理中国现代时期东北流亡文学及研究成果的大型图书，分为研究卷、史料卷、作品卷，共36册。《生死场》共收录萧红的14篇中短篇小说，包括《生死场》《桥》《离去》《旷野的呼喊》《牛车上》等。《生死场》讲述了20世纪20年代至30年代哈尔滨近郊一个村庄的乡民“生”与“死”的故事。萧红的小说带有一定的自叙传色彩，她打破了传统小说单一的叙事模式，创造了一种介于小说、散文和诗之间的边缘文体，并以其刚柔并济的语言风格、非情节化的结构、独特的写作视角及诗化风格形成了别具一格的“萧红体”小说文体风格，在文学史中独树一帜。
萧红，女，生于1911年，1942年逝世，中国现代女作家，“民国四大才女”之一，被誉为“20世纪30年代的文学洛神”。学名张秀环，后由外祖父改名为张廼莹。笔名萧红、悄吟、玲玲、田娣等。主要作品有短篇小说《旷野的呼喊》《莲花池》《牛车上》等，中篇小说《生死场》《小城三月》《马伯乐》等，长篇小说《呼兰河传》等。
