廣西容縣人，出生於西安，自小隨父母遷台，台大機械工程學系畢業。赴美於西維吉尼亞大學及加州大學洛杉磯分校進修振動學和固體力學。早期就職於能源公司，後轉入航太界，擔任研發工作二十多年，現已退休。
