陳奎憙教授乃臺灣教育社會學研究之先驅，與林清江教授、林生傳教授同為國內教育社會學體系之奠基者。在國內教育社會學研究萌芽之際，他們致力於學科架構的建立，並大力撰寫教科書，廣泛探究各種議題，為臺灣教育社會學界奠定了深厚的研究基礎。在陳奎憙教授等學者的領導下，我國已於民國八十九年成立「教育社會學學會」，臺灣教育社會學發展至今，已開花結果，令人欣喜，更期待未來其豐碩的研究成果。
